What is the Beacon Santa Telethon?
The Beacon Santa Telethon is a student-run, 40-hour event broadcast live from Maynard High School on radio and television. We also live stream online on our website, wavm.org. The 2023 telethon will mark the 44th year anniversary since it began in 1978.
The annual telethon consists of a variety of acts, segments, radio shows, live entertainment, and more! A large part of the telethon is our live auction, where people can bid on flower arrangements, gift cards, toys, clothing, electronics, and hundreds of other items. Auction items are donated before the event by small families, large businesses, and everyone in between! However, the telethon wouldn’t be successful without monetary donations from our viewers. All proceeds raised by the telethon are given directly to the Beacon Santa Fund, a non-profit that supports families during the holiday season.

If you’d like mail a check, please make it out to “Beacon Santa” and send it to WAVM c/o Beacon Santa Telethon, 1 Tiger Drive, Maynard MA. If you’d like to donate an auction item please click below for more donation information:
Any monetary donation over $25 will be displayed on a donor board that is run constantly throughout the telethon. All auction items are brought onto live TV and can be bid on live.
The 2023 Beacon Santa Telethon will begin on December 8th on channel 8 (Comcast) or 28 (Verizon) along with our live stream. Radio shows will be broadcasting for all 40 hours throughout the weekend as well. The telethon will conclude with our closing ceremony at on Sunday, December 10th.
